Foxglove/Digitalis purpura
Foxglove is one of the most distinctive hedgerow plants, with its tall spire of bright pink flowers. Naturally found in woodland clearings, hedges and areas of soil disturbance. Individual flowers can be up to 6cm long, with mottled or spotted insides. Regularly visited by bumblebees, this is an important food plant for them. Foxgloves add
structure to the wildflower canopy with a flash of colour.
