Green-tree Roof Substrate Intensive
Green-tree Intensive Roof Garden Substrate is a blend of lightweight aggregate and award-winning Green-tree Topsoil, this roof garden soil is ideal for green roof construction projects and particularly containerised planting. Intensive roofs are heavier and deeper green roofs and their growing media ranges in thickness from 200mm to 1000mm. This deeper soil allows intensive roofs to accommodate large plants and plant groupings. Green-tree Roof Garden Substrate Intensive is an established growing media within the Green-tree family of products. This substrate is lightweight in texture with good water holding capacity that ensures healthy plants and trees in a roof garden environment.

Green roofs have grown in popularity
over the last ten years, due to
improvements in system availability,
greater knowledge of green roof
requirements and successful green
roof installations across the UK. They
are now recognised as one of the
most efficient methods of ‘urbangreening’ amongst commercial
developments within towns and cities
and even the more adventurous
amongst us are converting our outbuildings and garages to green roofs.
Green roofs offer developers an
excellent solution for assisting in the
management of storm water and
reducing the ecological impact of a
project.
Green roofs have many benefits
including their positive impact on
biodiversity providing much needed
habitats for birds and insects.
All Green-tree Roof Garden
Substrates are manufactured to
current FLL (Forschungsgesellschaft
Landschaftsentwicklung
Landschaftbau’s) Guidelines 2008
ensuring consideration is given to fire
regulations set out by FLL.
